The Coastal Settlement

This is my first time ever meeting Desebelle alone for dinner. Able to meet her because her exams are almost over. It definitely feels like a 'get to know her (more)' session. We shared a lot stories tonight at a romantic place. The Coastal Settlement.

I think I'm crazy over overlays. Tried adding whiskers and ears this time round. Intense MEOWIEEEEE~ moment with her.

We had rosti sausage, cod fish and truffle fries. I love the smell and taste of truffle fries and I think TCS serves pretty yummy ones. A teeny weeny disappointed that their cod fish came in the battered style. As cod fish is quite expensive, I think it's a waste cooking it that way. And I prefer cod fish the pan fried style.

HAA! We girls always have a separate stomach for desserts. TA-DAR! We shared a cheesecake. Yums!

Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake

And we ended the night by exploring the rest of the place, taking lotsa pictures.

Flock Café

Met up with Rach today because her exams are finally over! 3 days after her birthday, it's my turn to treat her. Went around Tiong Bahru area this time, looking for a nice café. Trying to locate 40 Hands but settled with Flock Café as we were sweating like crazy with tummies grumbling too. Flock Café is located at a quiet corner of Tiong Bahru. Not a very big place, but definitely a cosy one.

We had exactly the same thing! Pasta of the day - Prawn Aglio Olio and Iced Mocha. Needed a cold drink badly to cool ourselves down. And while waiting for our lunch to be served, I tried the overlays effect again. Added some whiskers!  MEOWIEEEEEE~

Pasta of the Day - Prawn Aglio Olio
Iced Mocha

I really love prawn aglio olio. Love the mix of chopped garlic and chilli. The prawns are fresh and bouncy. It's a pity I didn't manage to finish my spaghetti as I couldn't chew properly.

And of cos, we will never forget to snap a picture together. The time spent with Rach each meet up is always so short and rushy. Dear Rach, can we spend the whole day together next time? *hint*

Riders Café

BFF Jas decided to clear time off on this very off day of mine. THANK YOU SO MUCH DARLING! Really appreciated it. And lucky us, her dad's not around, she can drive the car out! Since we have the car, we wanna go somewhere that's really inaccessible. Yupp that's right, Riders Café. It is so inaccessible that you hardly even spot a cab there. The only mode of transportation is..your own vehicle and maybe horse? OKAY KIDDING!

We were hoping that they have all day breakfast as we were craving for some pancakes, waffles and maple  syrup. Too bad, their brekkie ends at 1100. We ain't no early birds today.

Riders Burger with rocket, brie, relish, bacon, onions and seasoned fries

Creamy Risotto with seared Hokkaido scallops, broccolini & truffle oil

Their risotto is really good. The cheese and truffle oil blended so well together. Perfect mix! Though I'm a cheese person, I was afraid that I will not be able to finish my risotto. I thought I will feel really gelat, but nah, not a teeny weeny bit. It was so yummy! I will definitely go back to Riders Café for their breakfast. *drools*

3rd Army Trip - Taiwan

This is the 3rd overseas trip in his NS life. Last trip and the longest one too. 30 days. We will pull through together.

Been a week since Bibi left for Taiwan. The last time I use this iPhone app was his previous trip, to Taiwan too. That was how I chance upon an old photo of us, taken at the airport back then. Just look how much we have changed over just 8-9 months. We used to look like some naive teenage couple who just fall in love with each other. Now, we kinda look like a pair of matured newly weds. HAA! Okay, I know it's quite thick skinned of me to say that. But that's how I truly feel. :)

See for yourself and you be the judge. :P

I miss you and can't wait for you to be back. Take care darling. I LOVE YOU!

Ladurée Singapore

After months and months of hearing people talking about Ladurée opening in Singapore, it's finally here! Decided to pop by town and check what this whole Ladurée macarons hype is all about.

While waiting in line, I asked one of their staff about the price of the smallest box of macarons. It's $3.80 for one, $36 for a box of 6. So if you do some calculations, you are paying $13.20 just for the box. When it was my turn, I asked another staff what other packaging they have. So, she told me a classic box of 12 costs $45.60, exact price of 12 pieces. Since I'm getting some for my colleague too, might as well get this classic box. We will not be keeping the box anyway.

Extreme left row, top to bottom: Strawberry Candy Marshmallow, Praline
Center row, top to bottom: Rose, Raspberry, Marie Antoinette
Extreme right row, top to bottom: Pistachio, Salted Caramel, Rose

Strawberry Candy Marshmellow: It's sweet. Sweeter than rose but not bad
Praline: Didnt get to try this, but my colleague said it's nice and she really love it
Rose: The sweetness is just right. Love it!!! (rose usually wont go wrong)
Raspberry: A little sour
Marie Antoinette: Tastes like Sprite
Pistachio: Tastes like coconut (kinda disappointed as I was hoping for a really unique taste)
Salted Caramel: Tastes like Garett's popcorn and it's really really really sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Happy Birthday Serena!

Just step foot into my house after having my lunch nearby, Eileen texted and ask if the girls can meet up for a celebration for Serena. It's her birthday! After exchanging some text messages to confirm, I showered and cabbed down to town.

I've heard and seen so much about the place called Palais Renaissance, but didn't have the chance to check that place out. Today's the day. As I was making my way there in the cab, the girls were enjoying their lunch at P.S. Cafe. I like the glass house ambience of P.S. Cafe and they never fail to have HUGE pots of plants or flowers. When we were there, this guy was arranging some really long panda leaves in a big pot.

As usual, me being me, I took out my phone and started snapping pictures when this staff just came right in front of me to inform that photography is not allowed. I was quite surprised with whatever he told me but didn't really care cos I've finished taking what I wanted to. Though until today, I don't understand what's the reason for not allowing customers to take pictures. I've been to the one at Dempsey and no one ever stopped me. Oh well.

We made our way down to Antoinette for desserts. The ambience is to die for man. It feels like you are in some secret garden. You will not believe this, but yes, it's my first time trying their cakes!!! I do not need to go into individual cakes to share with you how tasty they are. They are all yummy to the tummy! You need to go try it for yourself. All cakes have their own unique taste, and it just blends in so nicely. (I'm starting to drool now)

As per requested by birthday girl, we are all dressed in floral prints. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SERENA!

Poulet

Our monthly meet up and also to celebrate Sham's birthday! :) I would say, this is probably one of our most successful birthday surprise. HAA! Since it's to celebrate Sham's birthday, we've decided on Poulet as that's where she wanted to try. But, just about 30 minutes before we meet, she texted on our group chat saying that she've tried Poulet before. *heart break*

Everything served at Poulet is generally not bad. We tried both their onion and mushroom soup. The onion soup is sweet, and onions are so soft. Their half chicken was awesome and soft enough for me to chew on (I extracted 4 teeth). Their mushroom is suppsoe to come with a poached egg. I swear their poached is like a hard boiled egg. Nowhere near poached. Probably overcooked. Escargot was a little too hard for me to chew on and will love it more if the garlic butter taste was stronger, cos theirs is a tomato base sauce if I didn't remember wrongly.

Our usual class photo. HAA! And thhat 2 boys are flying off to Taiwan in a few days. That explains their haircut. :P Once again, HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAM!
